Hart Studios

Brenton John Hart

In 1974 Brent began designing and building homes in the San Francisco Bay Area. His design focused on quality and durability with an emphasis on the way people live. Between 1974 and 1986 he designed 20 residences, personally building 12 of them.

Inspired by the Green Brothers, in 1986 he opened a studio in Benecia to enable him to better design and construct interior spaces, cabinetry and interior details. This allowed him to craft an entire living space with the quality and eye for detail that he put into the rest of the house.

In 1989 Brent and his family moved to the San Juan Ridge just north of Nevada City where he built a home and studio. For the next 2 years he designed and built fine art furniture and exhibited at shows in San Francisco, Cherry Creek, Portland, Seattle and Baltimore. During this time he was also represented in galleries located in San Francisco and Aspen.

Since then he has continued to design and build homes and commercial projects in both the Nevada City and San Francisco Bay areas. For the last 10 years his emphasis has been to create spaces that are sustainable, blur the distinction between interior and exterior spaces, and create spaces that interest and inspire while at the same time foster a sense of well being.
